The Los Angeles and San Francisco Daily Journal has honored Halpern May Ybarra Gelberg name partners Aaron May and Grant Gelberg as “Law Firm Leaders” in the publication’s Top Boutique Law Firms 2025. In its inaugural “Law Firm Leaders” feature, the Daily Journal honored four leading boutique firms in California. The Daily Journal profiled how the two former federal prosecutors tried fraud cases together at the Department of Justice, before going on to build HMYG into the boutique it is today: a firm with multiple strong practice areas, and particularly extensive experience in business litigation and white-collar defense. The profile highlights the firm’s culture of strategic collaboration and its attorneys’ ability to dive deep into complex cases and produce “high-quality work” from “early stages all the way through to trial and on to appeal.” This honor builds on HMYG’s 2023 Daily Journal ranking as a Top Boutique and its 2025 Chambers Spotlight ranking in White-Collar Crime & Government Investigations.
