Halpern May Ybarra Gelberg LLP attorneys Grant B. Gelberg, S. Albert Wang, and Gwendolyn M. Toczko have successfully secured the complete dismissal of the firm’s client from a federal lawsuit. In the lawsuit, a large, publicly traded company had publicly accused the client of participating in a massive alleged fraud scheme. But, unable to credibly oppose the firm’s motion to dismiss and motion to strike pursuant to California’s anti-SLAPP statute, the adversary has now dismissed the client from the lawsuit entirely. The firm is pursuing an attorneys’ fees award, to compensate its client for defending itself against these spurious claims.
